Ballad of Turmoil and Resolve
By: Mia L
In the bleak midwinter, January's chill,
A tale of chaos, a moment still
Upon the Capitol's steps, a riotous roar,
Echoing through history's door.
On January 6th, a day of dread,
A nation watched with bated breath,
As anger surged, and tensions high,
Unfurled the scene beneath the sky.
From far and wide, they did descend,
With banners raised, they did intend,
To storm the halls of democracy's might,
In a tumultuous clash of wrong and right.
Through shattered windows, they did breach,
A breach of trust, beyond all speech,
As chaos reigned and voices cried,
In the heart of the nation, fear multiplied.
Amidst the turmoil, a solemn vow,
To uphold the laws, to disavow,
The violence born of misguided might,
And restore the peace, by day's first light.
January 6th, a day engraved,
In the annals of time, forever saved,
A reminder of the fragility we hold,
In the tapestry of stories yet untold.
So let us learn from history's rhyme,
To cherish peace in every clime, And pledge to build a world anew,
Where unity and justice ring true.
